Sources
The data sets and documentation on
the GEO-3 Data Compendium have been extracted from the GEO Data Portal,
focusing on those data sets that have actually been used for the 1972-2002
state of the environment analysis and associated graphics presented in GEO-3.
Many organizations have contributed
the data sets and documentation available in the GEO-3 Data Compendium.
The Compendium contains readily available, globally harmonized primary data
sources such as FAO's FAOSTAT, the World Bank's World Development Indicators,
or the UN Common Database. Also included are various regional or other specific
data sources, reflecting the broad scope and regional focus of the GEO process.
The
data sources and providers are listed in the documentation that accompany
each data set.
